🎅🏻 Ho Ho Ho Everyone, I hope you are all having a great week and all getting ready for Christmas on Sunday!
Here is a quick fun fact before everyone has a break for the holiday.
Exercising with a friend 👭
Exercise is great! it helps to get us out into the world and is great for our overall state of mind. However, when training alone can often be demotivating and lonely! This is why it is always important to train with a friend whether that be just your running partner or a weekly running group. There are a number of different benefits which we receive when we train with a friends. These include:
It increases our motivation: when we organise to train with someone else it forces us to actually get up and go to training. Then whilst actually training if we want to stop when we are alone it is fairly easy to stop however when training with someone else it is a lot harder to stop as the other person/people are forced to stop as well. This makes you push through the pain and can make you a much higher level of satisfaction at the end of the workout. This means that when exercising with a friend we are likely to run faster as well as having an increased likely hood of succeeding with our goal.
Explore new areas: When you exercise with others you are able to explore new areas and find the best areas to train. For example you may run a similar route everyday and running is starting to get a bit boring. Then one day you may go for a run with a friend who lives in a different neighbourhood to you. This friend then shows you of a different route in this neighbourhood which you fall in love with. You then add this to you route to your weekly running schedule and it helps to motivate you to continue running again.
It's fun and social: exercising with people gives you the opportunity to have a good conversation with a friend and find out what is going on in their life. It provides you with the opportunity to connect and spend quality time with other people around you. It also gives you the opportunity to build new relationships and friendships. These new friendships can often then prosper and extend beyond the boundaries of just exercise.
That is it for this week!
hope you all have a great week and a wonderful Christmas
Thanks 🙏
