🧘 Hi Everyone, I hope you are all having a great week!
Here is a quick summary of what happened in my week/what I learnt
Fun fact❓
⛽Fuelling your body correctly is necessary when completing endurance sports, understanding food and the impacts of food on the body is an endless rabbit hole of questions and complex scientific papers.
The simple understanding which most people should learn is that;
Carbohydrates such as: pasta, bread and rice. All help to contribute to long lasting energy in the body. They are required well before a workout 4+ hours.
Protein such as steak, chicken and fish all help to build muscle in our body after a workout.
Vegetables: Vegetables help to maintain good hydration in the body as well as providing fibre as well as the necessary vitamins which are required in our diet.
However, all of this can go far deeper. Checkout my mindmap (here) which i will be working on over the next 6 months and will continue to update as I learn more about fuelling your body as an athlete. My goal with this is to create a simple mind map which explains what food/drink you should eat and what food/drink you should avoid when training.
If you have any questions or want me to do research into a specific food/drink please reply back to this email and I will endeavour to research into it.
That is it for this week!
hope you all have a great week
Thanks 🙏
